Robert
is the
Vibes'
drummer. For a short time, he was at
the Keyboard until the band discovered what a great drummer he is.
He's been playing percussion, the drums, and keyboards since an early
age.
His
drumming experience includes a wide range of genres, from conventional
jazz to country as well as funk and Latin. His musical tastes include
classic rock horn-based bands like Blood Sweat & Tears, Tower of
Power, Chicago, and Earth Wind & Fire.
Robert owns and operates Integrity
Productions, an audio/lighting production and DJ company.
He is responsible for the great live sound you hear from EL
VIBES.
On
drums, Robert has worked with a multitude of locals bands and artists,
which include Mark Zeus & The Thunderboltz, Guilty Party, and Mark
Halata & Texavia.
On Keyboards, he works with Main
Street, and has worked with Infinite Groove, Pete Espinoza (of La
Fiebre), Edge, and Steely Dan Tribute Band.
Robert's influences
on drums include: Steve Gadd, Jeff Porcaro, Bernard Purdie, David
Garibaldi, Rick Marotta, Danny Seraphine, John Guerin, Bobby Colomby,
Eddie Bayers, and Houston-based Steve Allison.
Robert is the
music director for Faith Community Church in Alvin, Texas.
He attends Sam
Houston State University where he is studying for his Bachelor of Arts
and Humanities degree and
majoring in mass communications. He is also a member of the SHSU
jazz ensemble.
