A veteran and versatile musician , Ronnie Corb was
introduced to playing music by family members in the music business. At an
early age, he began learning his father's instrument - the drums. Not long
afterward, he learned to play the guitar, having been inspired by the Beatles and
other 60's rock groups. Ronnie then went on to study the violin. In high
school, he played violin in the orchestra and played guitar in the jazz band.
At eighteen, Ronnie began his professional music career in Houston and within a
year, found himself playing guitar for show bands in Las Vegas. From there,
Ronnie hit the road. He played across the country with dance and show bands
for most of the 70's.
Ronnie eventually returned to Houston and rode the country music wave through the
mid-80's as a fiddle and guitar player. During that time, he began singing
regularly and added saxophone and keyboards to the list of instruments he plays.
The late 80's and 90's offered Ronnie a multitude of opportunities to hone his
skills on all of these instruments. Though he considers himself a
guitarist, first and foremost, Houston area bands have often used him solely
for saxophone and keyboards. He also performs as a keyboard soloist and as
part of a duo incorporating talented local singers.
Ronnie is a great asset to EL VIBES and he is often referred to as the
band's "utility man", a role he says he enjoys.
2008 marks Ronnie's 35th year as a professional entertainer.
Ronnie resides with his family in Sugar Land where he also teaches music.
